Once set, Knowtify monitors your whereabouts using geolocation. When you arrive home (with your phone), the app reacts by automatically sending an SMS notification to your family and friends or reminding you to notify them.

When using the “remind” feature, Knowtify will prompt you 5 minutes after it detects you’ve arrived home. When prompted, you can: dial emergency services (for help, if you haven’t arrived safely), choose to be reminded in another 5 minutes or cancel the notifications altogether.

Knowtify never transmits your location. The app only sends an SMS message (to those chosen), letting them know that you’re home.

Knowtify does not collect, obtain or transmit your location data, nor does it log your location at any time. All location monitoring is done, privately and locally, on your personal iPhone. And, only when it notices that you’ve crossed into your “home” territory does it react.
